Outline: Seven emphatic claims of Jesus which show Himself to be the Answer to death’s despair and give us reason to trust Him for life, both now and forever.
The seven (metaphorical) “I AM” statements of Jesus in the Gospel of John
28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? 33 Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; 34 who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. 35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 Just as it is written, “FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED.” 37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Outline: Three reasons that Christians can be secure and at rest in the midst of [the world’s] calamity and chaos.
Because Christians know our God’s sovereign plan and purpose of salvation. (8:28‑30)
Because Christians believe the objective truths of the Gospel. (8:31‑34)
Because Christians trust our God’s unbreakable love towards us. (8:35‑39)
14 But may it never be that I would boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
Outline:
1. The Voice – Paul’s tone Concern, passion, protective, truthful, daring (Galatians 1:9, 2:11, 3:1, 5:12, 6:14)
2. The Violence (John 19:28) He who gives the Water of Life thirsts Himself.
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
Sermon Theme: The Church should be full of thankful Christians who are completely governed by and focused on their Lord Jesus Christ.
Outline: We are called as Christians and as a Church to lives overflowing with thanksgiving and marked by 3 Christ-centered priorities:

12 So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. 14 Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.
The Big Idea: As Believers who have been chosen and specially loved by God, Christians must choose daily to put on the new spiritual attitudes and actions He has provided as individuals, and collectively as a church body.
Outline: Three concepts you must own in order to live like true Christians – both personally as individuals, and collectively as a church body.

III. Our Christ-centered Actions – Application (3:13)

Kindness – A friendly and helpful spirit that also seeks to meet the needs of others
Humility – To think or to judge of yourself with lowliness
Patience – Endurance, long suffering, forbearance, perseverance, slowness in avenging wrong.

8But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth.9Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices, 10and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him— 11a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all.

5 Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry. 6 For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come upon the sons of disobedience, 7 and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them.
The Big Idea: God commands Christians to put our sins to death and has blessed us with Gospel reasons, power and knowledge to do so.
Outline: Three keys to help you kill the sins of sexual immorality and greed in your life.
1. Know the seriousness of these sins and how you must view the as a Christian. (3:5‑6)
